Sims signs two-year contract extension 📝

06/04/23

We are delighted to announce that defender Toby Sims has signed a two-year contract extension with the club.

The right-back joined the club during the January transfer window and has quickly become a fan favourite during his short spell in the yellow & black.

Speaking shortly after putting pen to paper, Sims shared his delighted after having his long-term future secured.

"I am really happy to sign the new contract and to have my future secured here for another two years. The aim for me coming in was to secure a longer-term contract and every day since I signed, I have been trying to do that.

"The backing the fans have given me is fantastic and it gives me confidence knowing that they are right behind me. Now this has been secured, it's about kicking on and doing everything I can to help this club finish as high up the table as possible."

Simon Weaver was pleased to secure the future of his number 14.

“Toby has been absolutely magnificent during his time with us. The supporters have taken well to him, you can see he has a desire to play for the badge and that is important for us, we want to have players who want to be here.

"We have also seen so many great qualities in Toby off the pitch as well as on it. We want him to be a big fixture here in the team.”

The full-back will serve the final match of his three game suspension on Friday and will be available for selection for Monday’s match against Leyton Orient.
