We are excited to introduce our newly re-structured PLAYER DEVELOPMENT CENTRE (PDC) and the ADVANCED PLAYER DEVELOPMENT CENTRE (APDC) which is now in place for the upcoming 2021/2022 season.
After the club were awarded Academy status in May, an investment was made to appoint new fulltime coaching staff into the Academy. New experienced staff were appointed to assist in continuing to make a positive impact to our youth development programme and help develop direct pathways from the newly structured PDC and APDC towards full time academy and professional football.
New Coaching Team
Paul Stansfield has been appointed as Academy Manager on a fulltime basis and had this to say regarding the PDC and APDC,
“It is a great a privilege to head up the PDC / APDC this year and having visited the site at St John Fisher’s and watched sessions we can see the talent, passion and energy from both players and coaching staff. The youth development of any football club underpins the whole club and we want as many children to be a part of the Harrogate Town AFC community as we continue to provide an experience where young footballers thoroughly enjoy playing and learning different skills both on and off the pitch. The PDC has been very successful for a number of years, and we want to see it thrive for many more to come”
Ross McKay has been appointed as Lead Academy PDP U18’s Coach & Head of Coaching and shared his thoughts and vision for the new PDC / APDC re-structure,
“It’s very exciting to be a part of such a forward-thinking positive club. The club not only wants to develop the 1st team but has a real passion for youth and the further development of young players in the local and surrounding areas. The goal for all football clubs is to work towards developing their own in-house talent to progress into the 1st team. Harrogate Town is no exception, although the difference with this club, is that we want to engage and develop as many players as possible, not only for the 1st team, but various other pathways to allow young players to have the possibility of continuing their footballing journey into our Academy, BTEC Programme or joining the club as a young enthusiastic coach or staff member in the future. These are really exciting times for the club and Harrogate as a town.”

Session Timetable
Three have been a few minor changes to the timetable which we understand could prove difficult for some individuals, but we have made these changes for the benefit of all the players and with a view to further enhance the development of all the players involved. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we hope that new arrangements can be made for your child to continue their footballing journey with Harrogate Town AFC.
