The U19's Alliance side fell to their first defeat of the season this year against a very strong South Shields side on Wednesday afternoon.
The game started with South Shields controlling possession, though without creating a lot of clear-cut chances.
Centre backs Charlie Owen and Dan Corbett defended very well - the chances that were created that beat the defence, Alfie Storey in the Town goal was equal to.
The first goal game via a good cross from the left and the South Shields number nine putting it away at the front post.
Town got a foothold in the game with Joe Gosling and Gabe Hopkinson forcing saves from the goalkeeper.
Gosling then came close when Harry Lazenby won the ball high in the centre of the pitch, the ball was played to Gosling who turned and hit the post.
South Shields capitalised on this missed chance instantly as the fullback's long ball over the top for the number nine to loft the ball over Storey in goal for 2-0.
The third came late on in the second half as an unstoppable shot found its way into the top corner.
3-0 it finished as the alliance side look forward to hosting Scarborough next week.
