U10/11s Battle to Doncaster Draw

04/02/20

A strong performance from our U10/11s saw them twice come from behind to get a 2-2 draw at Doncaster on Friday 31st January.

Doncaster took the lead against the run of play in the first period, only to be pegged back by Harrogate when Albie Jaruga turned home a corner kick with a sweet left footed strike.

As the game continued, Town began to take control of the game and create the majority of the chances, however just at the end of the first period one of Doncaster’s midfielders hit a fine strike which was tipped onto the crossbar by Alfie Clarke, only to be turned home on the follow up.

Once again Town battled their way back into the game and got a deserved equaliser after Fraser Macinoll raced away and chipped the goalkeeper with a fine left footed finish.

Town could have wrapped the game up with numerous opportunities, but Fraser had his effort cleared off the line and Josh Hayes fired agonisingly into the side netting.

Overall a great performance from Town who played some great football at times and battled bravely to get a draw after going behind twice.
