Harrogate Town Ladies are delighted to sign attacking midfielder Abi Lee and goalkeeper Carrie Simpson from Brighouse Town.
An extremely versatile player with outstanding technical ability, Abi joins Town after having previously spent spells at Leeds United, Bradford City and Huddersfield Town, as well as representing the England Lionesses at youth level.
Here's what First Team Mananger Kez Heugett had to say on Abi's arrival:
"Abi is an extremely gifted footballer and can play anywhere on the pitch, however, she is most deadly in the midfield and I'm looking forward to seeing her add composure and ruthlessness to the midfield as well as goals."
Goalkeeper Simpson has also played for Bradford City and Leeds United Women, and will provide a commanding presence in Town defensive box.
"Carrie is an unbelievable goalkeeper," Kez said. "She is a vocal goalkeeper who can play out from the back under pressure and that matches our philosophy. Carrie’s cool, calm nature will add experience and composure to the back line and provide additional security to what's already an experienced defence.
"To be able to attract players of this calibre shows how far we have come in the last 15 weeks," Kez added. "Together we have built a fantastic squad but also an extremely positive culture which everyone has bought into and we all share the same goals, ambition and passion.
