A product of the Leicester academy, defender Joe Mattock joined up with Simon Weaver’s side this summer following his release from Rotherham United after they were promoted to the Championship last season. He made over 200 appearances during his time with the club.
In his early career Mattock was fortunate enough to represent the England national team at U17, U19 and U21 levels. In his time with the U21 squad Mattock made history in becoming the second youngest player to play at that level.
Having progressed through the club’s academy Mattock would go on to make 66 appearances Leicester City before moving on to West Brom. During his time with The Baggies several loan spells followed before he later signed for Sheffield Wednesday.
