BTEC Students develop skills and knowledge through funded coaching awards

10/05/22

Members of Harrogate Town's U19 Alliance team have successfully completed the FA’s Introduction to Coaching Award.

The course helps coaches create a safe, fun, and positive football environment. Whilst providing the initial pathway in to further coaching awards and qualifications.

Iain Service, Harrogate Town AFC Community Manager explained the importance, "To have young people within the Club start their coaching journey through this funded opportunity is fantastic. It is hoped that they become inspired and put their new found skills and experience to the test.

"We were lucky enough to receive grant funding from ‘the Two Ridings Foundation’ that focused on youth engagement in the local area. This grant included some money allocated to develop our workforce. It is hoped that during the holiday periods coaches will be available to support community based activities."

The learners completing the course are Olivia Johnson, Ben Barraclough, Daniel Winn, Jack Jarvis, Eliot Summers, Max Whiteley, Declan Green, and William Birdsall.
