We’re asking our supporters to select the 12th inductee of our newly launched Hall of Fame, with four key figures from our history to choose from.

Voting will close on Monday 27th February at 5pm, with the winner announced at our home fixture against Northampton on Tuesday 28th February.

Supporters not able to vote via the above link can also cast their vote by visiting our club shop during opening hours, located on Commercial Street, Harrogate.

Information on the four candidates can be found below…

PETER GUNBY - Gunby played for the successful early 1960s side who were Yorkshire League Division One runners-up and West Riding County Cup winners for 1962/63. Gunby then returned to the club as Player/Manager/Captain in the 1970s and led Town to being Yorkshire League Division Three runners-up in 1971/72 and West Riding County Cup winners in 1972/73.  During his two spells he played 291 games between 1959-64 and 1971-77 making him 12th highest in the all-time list of club appearances. Gunby was awarded an OBE in 2007 and sadly passed away aged 87 in 2022, still involved at the club participating in walking football during his final years.

JOHN REED - The first Manager to bring a league title to the club since 1981/82, John Reed’s Town won the Northern Premier league Division one title in the 2001/02 season by 10 clear points in his first season as Manager. Reed also took Town to the FA Cup first round proper for the first time in their history in 2002/03 during four seasons incharge. Reed also managed Town to two West Riding County cup victories for 2001/02 and 2002/03.

DAVE MERRIS - Fan favourite Dave Merris is fourth in the all-time list of league and cup appearances for the club having played 380 games in three spells over 1999-2003, 2006-08 and 2012-14. During that time, Merris helped Town win the Northern Premier League Division One title in 2001/02 and three West Riding County Cups 2001/02, 2002/03 and 2007/08.

DANNY HOLLAND - Fourth highest in the list of all time goals scored for the club with 98 from 190 games between 2004-2009, Danny Holland was top scorer for three successive seasons of the five he spent at the club. Holland top scored in 2005/06 with 26 goals from 45 games helping Town into the Conference North play-off semi-finals, in 2006/07 with 27 goals from 47 games and in 2007/08 26 goals from 47 games, helping Town win the West Riding County Cup final 6-0, scoring four of those goals.
