An Update on Injured Defender Will Smith

23/11/20

Head Physiotherapist Rachel Davis provides a further update regarding the injury that Will Smith sustained against Tranmere Rovers on 3rd November...

"We had initial concerns that Will had pain in his neck from the way he landed which is why we took necessary precautions, however he was cleared of any spinal injuries at A&E later that evening.

"Will also reported left hamstring pain at the time so we scanned him later that week. The MRI scan revealed significant tendon damage to the top of the hamstring which also must have been sustained during the incident.

"Will saw a consultant last week who has advised that surgery should not be needed but Will will be side-lined for 8-10 weeks.

"I will keep you updated through the course of his rehab."
